Role & Responsibilities

Reports to: VP Construction Operations
Hours: 7:00AM – 4:00PM
Based in: Norwood, MA

Overview:

This role is responsible for partnering with suppliers ensuring the purchased materials and tools meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms and evaluating supplier performance. In addition, this role requires partnering with our Foremen and Project Managers to properly equip jobsites staying within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement, sourcing, and contracting of materials, supplies, equipment and services
  • Develop and implement purchasing guidelines and procedures
  • Establish relationships with vendors and negotiate optimal pricing
  • Enter and issue vendor purchase orders
  • Order and process all inventory transactions from multiple vendors
  • Evaluate vendors to ensure its performance is aligned with Company needs
  • Communicate daily with foremen regarding stock orders
  • Maintain current pricing on commodity items

Qualifications

  • 5+ years prior experience in a purchasing role. Electrical industry experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and has personable accountability for commitments
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to stay organized and multi-task
  • Desire to continuously improve and become more efficient
