Overview
The Project Executive is responsible for leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of a project management team in addition to planning, directing, coordinating and budgeting activities concerned with large, complex electrical construction projects. The desired results are 1) our projects are run efficiently with maximum profitability and high customer satisfaction; and 2) our project management processes are standardized and efficient.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.
- Oversee and direct large, complex construction projects from conception to completion.
- Lead Project Managers and maintain oversight of their projects. Assess performance and deliver feedback regularly and in quarterly discussions.
- Review WIP schedule for all assigned projects.
- Engage regularly with our customers and respond with urgency to build trust. Partner with Project Manager to develop relationship with key clients.
- Build trust by consistently meeting project deadlines and customer expectations.
- Leverage relationships to identify future work opportunities.
- Ensures accurate and timely project documentation, including but not limited to, RFI's submittals, schedule updates, time records, supplemental work orders, change order pricing, and general project correspondence.
- Establishes, maintains, and tracks performance standards for all work performed on assigned project.
- Adheres to the Company uniform project management procedures and cost accounting standards.
- Participate in estimating hand off meetings to establish project budgets and initial project expectations.
- Establish project schedule.
- Ensure manpower is appropriately assigned to projects by working with Director, Field Operations.
- Create cost code allocations from initial estimate.
- Identify pre-fabrication opportunities and collaborate with GF, Director of Field Operations and Pre-Fab manager to lay out, plan and schedule all prefabricated assemblies.
- Oversee all multi-trade coordination efforts and scheduling with our BIM department.
- Enforce compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, safety standards and contracts and report all variances to Executive Leadership
- Work with corporate Safety Manager to ensure jobsite workers are adhering to Gaston safety rules and regulations.
- Work with GF to increase jobsite efficiencies and to remove any obstacles to worker productivity.
- Maximize project profitability and identify ways to reduce installation costs.
- Manage small and large package buyouts.
- Participate in WIP meetings with accurate cost-to-complete estimates.
- Price and negotiate project change orders.
- Manage vendors and track all deliveries with the assistance of project coordinators.
- Identify all constructability concerns and issue timely RFIs.
- Coach and train Project Managers on effective project management principles and consulting skills.
- Collaborate with Project Coordinators as required for assistance in Purchase and delivery tracking, software inputs, permit pulling, change order management, project close out materials, clerical duties, etc.
- Coordinate with Accounting to resolve any project cost issues.
- Identify process improvements to ensure we are continuously improving.

Position Requirements/Preferred Skills, Education and Experience
- 10+ years electrical construction project management experience.
- Estimating experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers – verbal and written
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Problem resolution skills.
Software Skills
- Knowledge of Spectrum Construction Software preferred.
- Knowledge of Conest Estimating Software preferred.
Language Skills
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
